I have a client who has a Mac G3 desktop. Whenever an audio CD is played in the drive, it skips. Data CDs are read fine without a problem. Those same audio CDs play just fine in any other computer, including other G3 desktops. My first instincts say clean drive, then replace if that doesn't help. Anyone else have some better insight into this problem?

Remove the Preferences folder from the System
Folder and restart. If that fixes it, delete the
following files:

AppleCD Audio Player Prefs
AppleCD Player Preferences
AudioCD Prefs
CD/DVD prefs
Finder Preferences
Mac OS Preferences
QuickTime Preferences
Sound Preferences

If that doesn't do it, get back to us after cleaning
the drive with a CD-ROM cleaning kit.
