I am a Windows/PC user. But I have a Macintosh Performa 6400/200that I know almost nothing about. I would like some assistance, if there is anyone out there who can help me out, please EMAIL me
schwentner@frontiernet.net.
I just need to know how to find information about the computer, and what it is worth. It runs and even has a scanner with it. Let me know, please! I am interested in selling it for a decent honest price. thanks!Bewtyfull Gurl

Go to http://www.lowendmac.com and look for the quicklinks right below the banner that says 'powermacs'..it will bring you to a list where you can pick yours out..besides a short review, profile and links relating to your model, theres often an approximate current resale value at the bottom..keep in mind they might be a bit low..i suspect they might be partly based on recent ebay transactions, which tend on the low side..if somebody really wants what you've got it might be worth considerably more than the amount listed, particularly if theres accessories and/or extra options included.

thanks, that site helped a little bit. there was no value listed for my system, but i am assuming that is because there are 2 configurations for the model that I have.
Where can i find the MHz of the computer? I am not very familiar with them at all.Bewtyfull Gurl

Hi There:
Your Performa operates at 200 Mhz.
It cost about $850.00
It has processor Power PC 603e
About memory (Ram) go to the little apple on
the left coner pull it down you should get
about the computer. It will tell operating
system and much Ram you ha

It's 200 MHz...that was *easy*.:).just for the record..Macintosh naming conventions for the older powermacs tend to have the model name followed by a backslash and the speed of the chip afterwards (as in 6500/225 , like mine)..they're good models, incidentally, but mine, like yours, has a case that i cannot for the life of me figure out how to get open..we both have the dubious honor of sharing (the 6400 and 6500) the hardest mac case to open of all the ones they made! ...I wanted to put the old harddrive from my G3 in it ( and the G3 Blue & White may be the easiest to open ever too...)
heres another link tho..http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/powermac/index.html...if you backtrack one category you can see all the various versions of the 6400 too...

I figured out the 200 part after looking on the apple site for info, and seeing that there was a 6400/180... something simple that i made hard, huh?
and as for the case, yea, i cannot seem to figure out how it opens either, i can get the one panel that slides out, but that is it. I have removed every single screw i could find, but no luck. PLEASE let me know if you ever figure it out!! :)
