Hi,

My faithful early iMac has a fried ethernet port for which Apple wants to charge 750$ to replace the motherboard. The only other port it has is USB (no firewire)

I would much rather bequeath it to my son, but to get him on the network I would want to buy a USB to ethernet adaptor and the Macintosh drivers for it.

Please, please tell me where to find a Mac OS driver for any usb to ethernet adaptor!!!!!

Regards,

Peter Warburton

You can buy a replacement iMac for $300 or so on eBay.

You can probably get just the motherboard for under $200.

There are no Mac drivers - yet - for any of the various USB-Ethernet adapters. Someone on this board claimed a while back that he was working on some.
