I have a Mac with 7.5.5 and use Netscape Navigator. My problem is that when I download stuff from the internet it downloads alright but when I try to open it on the desktop I get a message that says "could not read the file because text would be longer than it's maximum possible length" What does this mean? The only things I have downloaded are a solitare 123 game and shockwave. I neede shockwave so my niece could play the games on the cartoon network home page. They copy to the desktop but when I try to open them I get that message. Can someone give me any help? I would really appreciate it. Thank you. p.s. I don't know if this makes a difference but somtimes when I try to download I get a message about plug ins. I already have a plug in on my computer but I still get that message. thanks

To download you should, from now on, click and hold on a link to an attachement or downloadable file. You get a number of choices When you choose the 'save this link as:' option you get a prompt that gives you a choice of saving as 'text' or 'source'. Default is 'text' and that's not what you want. Choose save as 'source' and things should go smoothly after that.
