I am a graduate graphic designer and I have been using imac dv for almost 3 years now.
I desperatly need to upgrade..but obviously being newly graduated i have ltd money. I was wondering if anyone know any deals or good places to purchase in the UK.
Also i wanted to (when i get it) network the new computer with my imac..so i could perhaps use my imac as a hardrive? is that possible?
excuse my ignorance.

No offence, but look at EBay UK or a classified ad wbsite over there, this is not the appropriate forum for that part of your question.
As for the iMac being networked, all iMac's have come with 10/100 BaseT Network I/O's built in, so, yes, just enable file sharing on the iMac plug in the ethernet to a hub, switch or multi port router and away you go.

Yes you can do it really easily but when you deal
with real graphic files (ie >500Mb files), you will
find it really slow and displeasant to use a
network drive.

The best advice is to work on your local drive (in a
designated directory).

Make, download or buy a program that will
transfer the datas from the local directory (for
example /workspace) to a remote directory on
sepcific hours that you know you won't be using
your mac (like 4-5AM).

I think that Dantz Retrospect can do it but check
out their website to be sure:
