I have 2 PC's with Internet Connection Sharing enabled (using a 4 port network hub). Can I hook a mac to the hub and get Internet Access on the mac?
you should be able to, no problem. i have done it with the ics before. if your mac recognizes the pc it should be no problem. i had pcmaclan installed on the pc, so i don't know if that does anything.

Hi poill 1 Thanks for your reply.
I have been scanning previous posts, but I couldn't figure out if having pcmaclan made a difference or not. It maybe that if appletalk is used, pcmaclan may not be necessary, although one post said appletalk is much slower than pcmaclan.
I will keep muddling through the info.
Thanks for the post.

Try using COPS talk appletalk protocol for Windows 95. Or install Windows NT, and enable MacFile. We have a Mac/PC LAN set up at the office and it works just fine for transferring all kinds of stuff around the network between platforms.

Pcmaclan uses the apletalk protocol, so does services for macintosh on NT. Does anyone know how to share the internet> especially from a DSL connect, from the NT machine to the Macs?

I'm in a similar situation also. I'm running windows ME on my 3 PC's and they're sharing my cable modem connection fine, but the second i try to get on the internet with my mac, it causes the cable modem to reset itself, and stop for about a minute.
