Mac Browsers

I need some assistance:
I downloaded several Mac browsers from the internet in SIT or HQX format and saved them to a directory on a Win NT PC. I burned the directory to a blank CD which is supposedly format independent. When I run the CD from Startup on a Mac w/ OS 7.6 I see the icons only as Simple Text icons and can't open or run them. I even downloaded a copy of MacZip to Unzip each program but to no avail. What am I doing wrong? I only need 1 working browser on the Mac to Surf the Net as a networked node.

Hold the Option key down, then drag the files off the CD to the Mac desktop. Then use Stuffit Expander to decompress. You can download Expander for free from Aladdins site.

bob: its not that simple. d/l's of mac data from a pc are quite the enigma. simple logic wont suffice due to the pc involvement.
