Mac boots but no picture?

My Performa 5260 seems to boot up. I hear the startup sound, and the hard drive working. I even hear the "static" sound of the monitor. When I open up the case, I can see that the CRT is charged by the orange glow. Yet no picture appears. Anyone have any clues as to what this could be? Maybe a fuse? I hope that's all. Thanks.

Have you checked the PRAM battery inside the machine ... it is usually a lithium type and when it is draining the date and time misbehave first and then the screen goes black ... maybe worth checking. If you have a monitor which has brightness and contrast controls on the front, it may be worth attempting to up these in case some system glitch has reset them (which also sometimes happens for unknown reasons). Good luck

Stu, did you ever find the solution to this? I have two doing exactly the same thing at the moment and a new pram battery does not help them.
