We've got macs on a network with NT Server running proxy server. We can't ftp from the Macs with an ftp client (tired Transmit, Vicomsoft FTP). We can use IE5 to bring up and log on to ftp sites, but can't get the clients to work with the passive ftp we're using. Help?

We have a similar setup, and are using Anarchie from www.stairways.com as well as fetch for our mac clients.
Make sure that the ftp port is open on the proxy.

I have a PowerMac G4 and I wish to get it connected to my LAN, which is running on NT4 with Proxy Server installed. Is that possible?
Any feedback on the procedures would be much appreciated.

Yes, this is possible. what do you want to do? you can set up a shared file on NT and have it visible to the mac for read/write access. set up a mac file in your NT Server control panel. for internet access, you need some sort of proxy software. we use Proxy Server from Microsoft. We did get the ftp to work pretty well with the solution above. web is easy to set up.
