Linksys makes an easy to use hardware router, use it, it costs around $150 I think.

Hi there, My situation is a little bit different: I also have a PC with a network card and an iMac (only one network card). I'm thinking of buying a cable modem and i'd like to know how to connect both computers to the modem. Do I need an extra network card? Do I onlu have to buy a hardware router? Thank you

Well you must be trying to use a soft router based application on your mac setup. I use IP net router from www.sustworks.com or you could use viacom softrouter plus.
