If you want to run mac os,you buy the
ibook,if you want to run windows buy a
dell!
As for advantages,both platforms have
thier own!

You will have less things to carry everyday
if you buy a PC notebook. Because after a
short time you will be so fed up with it you
won't bother lugging it anywhere anymore
and will do anything but try to use it,
so....buy a PC and take up a new hobby
like fencing or stained glass.

firstly there are other operatings systems as well, like linux or the BSDs. Windows is not the only thing, and I would not buy a pc for windows.

Actually was wanted to know about *actual* advantages of mac (Mac aswell as MacOS)

So instead of just blabbering junk, it would be really nice if you explain properly.

If you want quality, simplicity, consistency
& reliability go for the iBook. If you want a
cheap laptop with none of the above, go
for the Dell.

I'll try and sum this up for you!
Ibook's are very portable and capable of running
OS X!(truely an amazing os!),where as pc
notebooks/desktops can't!,
Also you said there's other os's but the two you
mentioned are the core of OS X,so maybe?,..that's
a sign you should get the ibook!
