I have been offered Sound Jam for $50 from a retailer in order to record my LP's to CD. Or I can resurrect a HP Pavilion 6617 for a similar amount and have a wider choice of software for the same task. Any suggestions.Sandy

I'd use the Mac. Much more reliable and less trouble.

I suggest: phono to preamp to iMic (Griffin
Technology (RCA pins to USB)) to Mac running
Sound Studio (Felttip Software). It works and it is
easy.
