lost root password

we have lost(some one changed) our root password for the machintosh systems in our lab. neither the administrator nor any one of us know about this OS. we are all new to it. can any one tell me how to regain the root pass. pls reply me soon.

If you have an admin account.

bring up termial
type "sudo passwd root"

it will ask you to verify the admin password and the
prompt you to change root's passwd
