Hi, I am runing system 9.04, in my imac.
My interet server is eartjlink, I use netscape 4.7.I lost my inbox files, all of the files I had in my inbox, like emails, drafts, sent, everything is gone.
Also all of my nestcape preferences, seemed to be gone. I had to create a new profile, and do all the settings again. But I still need the information I had in my inbox. I didn't delete my previous profile (empty anyway), I just created one more profile on my netscape.PLease help.

Look in your Preferences folder, inside the Netscape Users folder, to see if your profile is still in there. If not, use Sherlock to see if you can find it. If it doesn't show up, you're probably SOL.
Assuming it does show up - the very likely possibility - you probably just need to fire up the User Profile Manager application in your Netscape folder and select the profile you want to use.
Upgrade to Mac OS 9.1 and then 9.2.2 ASAP, since both are far more stable than 9.0.x was.
And Netscape's e-mail client is awful. You might want to try a different one. I use Eudora for e-mail and iCab for browsing, with IE as my backup browser. Netscape is too riddled with problems to be my main browser.

I have ACN Internet Access service using Netscape 4.7. The last week's worth or so of emails in my inbox just vanished. Something similar to this happened about a year ago. I called Netscape customer service on the phone and got charged about $30 for them to walk me thru how to restore the lost emails. Of course I can't find the instructions they gave me. They told me next time this happens to go online to Netscape Help and get assistance instead of calling again and getting charged. My preferences seem fine fyi. Can you help me retrieve my lost inbox emails?? Thank you.
