loads most web sites slowly

I bought an imac about 2 months ago, love it except that some websites load quickly but others are very slow loading compared to my windows laptop. Any specific reason why thanks miss clairol
It may just be the page's you're visiting are high bandwith using lots of photos and videos and flash and java ect.

Yeah, that is one of my gripes about mac. Sites load much slower. For this reason, I have not only Safari, but also Firefox and Camino. I'm primarily using Firefox, with good results.
You might also want to try configuring your network card with faster DNS servers.
4.2.2.1 4.2.2.2 4.2.2.3
these are all high-reliability root-level DNS servers.
