Linksys not working

i just got brand new i mac os 10.4 iam new to new mac ,i try conecting to linksys router i could not connect , when i was using my pc i enabled dhcp on router ,now mac asking for dhcp client ID. i remove the router and connect directly to cable modem i was able to connect to the internet , my question what i was missing or what setting i need to change so that i can use router. on my pc i had 192.168.1.1 default gateway

Thanks capt i try that before posting here, somehow mac not getting ip address from router so i have gave static ip and dns server ipaddres now i have internet.

i had the same problem and fixed it by setting up the internet using static ip
