Since you don't tell us how you're doing it, it's hard to tell.

Do you mean you're trying to connect to an existing wireless network with an airport card...or are you trying to set up your own wireless network with a Linksys router? What's your goal...to "talk" to other machines on a network or share a broadband connection?? As "ChrisP" said...need more info. If it's networking info you're looking for (cables, connections, configurations) you could also search/post with the folks over at the "Networking" forum.

Sounds to me like the AirPort card isn't picking up the connection. The most common reasons for this are:
1) WEP is either enabled or disabled on the AirPort card, and the setting on the access point is reversed.
2) WEP is set to the wrong key size (both need to be the same, preferably 128-bit).
3) The wrong WEP key has been entered on the Mac, or it has been entered incorrectly.

One more thing...
4) You have the wrong addressing scheme selected in the Network pref pane. The access point can probably be configured to use either static IPs or DHCP, and probably shipped with DHCP on by default, so try DHCP on the Mac first. If that doesn't work, try assigning a static IP in the 192.168.x.y block, where x is either 0 or 1 and y is any number from 1-255 inclusive.
Summary: I seem to recall having to actually enter a DHCP machine IP address for Mac OS 8.x, but in 9.x and X, it seems like it figures it out if you just go to control panels and tell it you want it to be DH...
Summary: I have a pc and mac. I would like to connect them via network cards. Mainly to share .wav files and Image files. Is this easily Done? thanks 4 comments...
