Links in email text not working

Sending emails between my IBOOK and my friends PC... when he sends emails to me I can click and use links that we have put in the email text. When I send to him the link is highlighted in blue as normal but does not work. I'm a novice with computers so any help would be very appreciated.

Thanks for responding. Entourage and OE and MAc Mail. Since I posted the question I have found that the links work in plain text on mac mail . Its the HTML that seems to be a problem. David
