i have imac 400 mhz with 128 ram, and
os x 10.1.4. whenever i run limewire, it is
reeeeaaaally laggy. it takes maybe one
to three seconds whenever i click on a
button! i've mad sure that ONLY limewire
is running, and closed itunes and my
other programs, but it still goes really
slow. i've used limewire on my friend's
pc, and it runs a lot faster than my imac's
version. why is it so slow??

Limewire is peer-to-peer sharing s/w.
You are pulling a search and this app
must poll the vast spiderweb of
connected users by your criteria and get
back to you.
3 seconds...........Hoo Boy. You think it's
slow?
To be honest, i have no experience with
the OS X version, but the 9 ver I have is
the best peer-to-peer I have tried. It's fairly
sprightly in it's operation.

Hello,
Hey, fieraci, maybe you should do a little research before being a jerk. I have used the os x version and it is extremely unresponsive, which is downright irritating. This has nothing to do with the network. You just assumed that ben was saying something stupid, but he was talking about the responsiveness the app itself. Yes ben, I have had the same problems.

--- I did not imply that the poster is or was

sarcastic wit makes a point better than
the mono-tone of a 1960's high school

I run the Classic9 version of my Limewire
out of OSX and I seem to have the big
prob of Requerying more than anything
else. Downloads also seem to stop
quite frequently.

Limewire (osx) has been a pain for me
lately too. It worked a couple days ago,
but now it freezes- aka. spinning
beachball- everytime i start it and try to get
past the upgrade/why?/later window
regardless of which button I click. When
it will start up its usually still slow to
respond. Its quite frustrating.... If anyone
has any suggestions or alternatives, I'd
love to hear em.
