Mine won't boot either, nor will my sister's. We both have iMacs and cable modems. I think it has something to do with the fact that we're all using LimeWire basic and they (the company) want everyone to get LimeWire Pro.
Or perhaps it's not a conspiracy at all, heh heh, and they're just having connection problems. ::Shrugs::

I have the same problems both at work and at home. And there is nothing else out there that works as well for macs, for as far as I know....

you say you have a cable modem? who's your provider?
if your provider's parent company is AOL-Time Warner, remember that Warner Bros. (also owned by AOL-Time Warner) has a vested interest in preventing what they view as piracy.
in other words, if your provider is roadrunner...
