Comment:

I just bought a new G4 powerbook and can rarely get my internet connection using the internal modem to last more than a few minutes. I have checked all the settings - against ClaraNet's settings for OS9 - and all appears OK. I'm using V90 rather than V92, although it dies on all three options (v34,90 and 92)

This happens on different lines too, so it's not that the line has deteriorated.

Is the modem broken/not working properly?

Is it ClaraNet? I always had perfect connections before on PX (any OS)

This is seriously hacking me off, so please let me have any advice :-(

my grandfather had the same problem. we got a different service provider. he also, had the wrong type of modoem selected in the control panels. We fixed that, and his internet has worked fine since.
