When trying to install a modem driver, the installer stops executing the final script. The aquablue progression bar is at about 1 cm from the end. Even after waiting as long as 30 minutes, the procedure doe not finish. Alcatel assures the driver is oké. I downloaded it different times from different sources. Anyone any idea?

Alcatel's Speed Touch USB. Alcatel's helpdesk told me first to install the 1.4.3 version followed by the 2.0 upgrade. The problem described shows when doing step one of this procedure.

See if you can find their drivers elsewhere, or possibly a 2.0 installer that will work without having 1.4.3 installed first. ISTR having lots of problems with Alcatel USB modems a while back, and the eventual solution was to avoid using it entirely and use a *real* DSL modem that I could hook to a router.
