Hi all,

I'm having trouble printing from either Quark or PageMaker to our company's Epson 3000 printer. The EPS pictures within the document come out looking all bitmapped and ugly. The strange this is that this doesn't happen when you print the same pictures directly from Photoshop -- then they look crisp. I checked to make sure Quark had the right path to the picture files and it seems correct. Also tried re-installing the Epson drivers. It's almost as if the programs are printing the lower-res screen version of the picture, rather than the higher-res files themselves (like a screen font versus a printer font)

Any clues? Hints? A point in the right direction?

Cheers,
travis

Sounds like you are printing to a non-postscript printer. You probably need the Epson 'StylusRip' software package to get your layout apps printing like you want 'em.

Thanks for the idea, Fieraci! I'll check that out and let you know...
