iTunes problems

I recently connected my ethernet LAN connection to a wireless router. With my HP (XP) on the wireless and the iBook on the hardwire ethernet cable from the router output, both comps can surf the net, etc. However, iTunes only works (on my mac) when the internet connection is direct...i.e. router not used. Why is this, and how can I fix it? I assume it is an iTunes problem since both computers can use the internet for every other application without a problem.

It sounds like a firewall issue. Check the firewall on your router, port bloking etc. Check also your OSX firewall setting.

Ok
I fiddles around with the various firewall setting within OSX....and now, instead of no users, I can only connect to 1 user. Plug in directly and that number soars, plug back into router and it drops. I'm even more confused than before. PLease help!
