Hi,

I'm a web developer that took the plunge and picked up an Xserve and will be installing it into a datacentre soon. It looks like I'm expected to do the config myself, but unfortunately I haven't the faintest idea how!

If someone has any idea what the following items mean, I'd be extremely grateful for a translation!

switch: fi4802-1
physical port: 5
network: 66.201.222.96
netmask: 255.255.255.248
gateway: 66.201.222.102
broadcast: 66.201.222.103

I assume the first two relate to where I'm going to be plugging in my server, and I know where to tap in the netmask and gateway, but what are the network and broadcast addresses for? Where do I declare them?

Again, many thanks if someone could shed some light on this for me!

Cheers,

Chris
