Our office has a network of 6 macs. They range
from an 8500 through imac's to a G4. All are
running OS9. We regularly receive CD's burned on
PC's in the ISO9660 format. in the past we have had
no problems at all reading these CD's. Recently
though up to 60% to 70% of the CD's we receive
have failed to be read! When the CD is inserted a
message requesting reformatting of the disc comes
up.These Cd's however do read on a PC. We tried the
discs on a Powerbook running OS 8.6 and the
problem is the same. I have installed the Joliet
Volume Access extension and the problem persists.I have found a solution that is unsatisfactory. When
the CD is placed in a burner and I then import the
session the data will be loaded. I then burn a new
session onto the same disc without any extra data.
The cd will then be read without any problems on
the MAC.While this is a solution it is not ideal with the bulk of
CDs we receive. We have thought that maybe new
PC software has been released which does not
conform with mac standards. If anyone has any
ideas could they please respond. Thank you in
advance.Glyn Thomas

I'm not sure if a tiny program found on the internet will help you with this, but it helped me ... it's called ISOnoHFS-2. A search is worth the effort (I didn't note the URL when I got it ...sorry)
