Don't tell me to use a USB microphone...the only ones I can find require OS9. There MUST be a way!!

What do you have against OS 9? If it will allow you to do what you need, then get it. OS 9.04 or 9.1 are very good! I know of no other way to connect a mic to an ibook other than USB, unless you can find a 'serial port' mic solution and get a USB to serial adapter.
