Hi guys,

Small iPod problem here, that I was hoping you could help me out with.

I purchased a new Dell computer recently, and have come upon a certain problem that I am sure is quite easy to solve if you have experience with iTunes. Unfortunately my limited knowledge of Apple products, coupled with a lifetime of being obliviously shrouded in the overprotective bubble that is windows (jerked out of this dream by the occasional harsh slap of reality that is the BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH) has left me without an answer to my problem.

I have tried to move my songs from my iPod to the iTunes on my current computer, and used the program CopyPod to facilitate this. I loaded all of my songs to my library, and then tried to update my iPod. I then received a message that told me:

“Some of the songs in the iTunes Music Library, including the song “(some song that I gravitate toward)”, were not copied to the iPod “(My name)’s iPod” because you are not authorized to play them on this computer. I checked and found out that I was missing 19 songs, all of which were purchased from the iTunes Music Store.”

Thanks for your help.

You need to authorize your iTunes... Under the advanced
menu, click Authorize Computer... you will be asked to enter
your iTunes Music Store account username and password...
it will then allow you to play those songs and copy them to
your iPod.
