Comment: I just got a PowerMac G4 and it came preloaded with OS X. I setup Earthlink and used the Internet Connect to get on the internet using the built-in 56k modem. I'd rather use OS 9, so I switched the startup disk, but I'm having trouble getting on the internet in OS 9. The Modem control panel was in the Control Panels (Disabled) folder, and when I dragged it to the Control Panels folder and tried to open it, I got a message saying something about not being able to find 'Controller'. What's going on?

Reply: (edit)Use the Extensions Manager to enable all your extensions in OS 9. Restart and run the Internet Setup Assistant, which should be somewhere on your hard drive. p
