Here's a tough one-I do IT work (mostly PCs though) and I'm stumped:Here goes-suddenly last week, completely out of the blue-I turn on the Mac, and no applications will open due to "not enough memory available". AOL won't open because a lib file is missing. For some reason, I try to open Internet Explorer 5, and it starts up, but runs through the Internet Explorer First Run sequence, installing a bunch of stuff. Then, miraculously, everything else works fine. I reboot, and the same thing. So now the machine works fine, but you have to open Internet Explorer every time you boot up, and let it run through the internet explorer first run, otherwise, the same missing libraries/not enough memory errors from all applications. I don't know enough about Mac to tweak this out, so any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Update to 9.2.2 and see if that helps matters. Make sure you're running the latest IE if you insist on using IE, too, but iCab is a FAR superior browser.

I'd probably check the Extension set first.
Click on the Apple Menu -->> Control Panel -->> Extension manager.
Change the selected set to Mac OS 9 ALL and reboot.
Post if the problem continues after that.

Sure enough-it was an extensions
conflict, which I was able to resolve with
Kevin's suggestions-and I learned some
more about macs in the process! Thanks
to both of you! A couple restarts later,
everything is working fine!
