os 8.5.. i think
IE 5.0, newly loaded. I downloaded the upgrade off the internet and now when I use it, I get the message cache low on memory, or not enough memory to open another window. Essentially it gives me a cache memory full error. The cache space is at its default amount and I have tried increasing the amount. I don't think I lack ram because I have 64MB of it. Any suggestions?

Well, 64MB isn't much if you're running
8.5 with IE, since IE wants at least 16MB
for itself and the OS wants anywhere from
20-70MB depending on whether you have
virtual memory on and what extensions
you're running.

Try giving IE a bit more RAM - click ONCE
on its icon, do a cmd-I (Get Info), go to
Memory (in the popup menu under the
name), and set the Preferred Size to
24576 K. See if that fixes it.
