Internet Explorer 4.5 & 5.0 JavaScript

Comment:
neither version of explorer is able to run JavaScript on my OS8.6 Mac. A "JavaScript required" error message appears and the subsequent instructions about enabling Java are irrelevant to the browser(they could be meant for Windows!). Java IS enabled internally from the preferences menu and MRJ 2.1.4 is installed . I currently use Netscape to read my hotmail, since this does not rely on the Apple MRJ engine. Is there an answer ? Nothing relevant on the Micrfosoft site. thanks kostas

Currently I am in a team developing a website for a company- but some of our javascript does not give us the mouseovers that we had hoped for. (No mouseovers happen.) Does anyone know where I can find more information about Javascript on IE 4.5 for mac?
thank

i get the feeling those dudes up at MSIE5 are laughing up their sleeves knowing there is no answer to the question of java enabling on the 5. I'm getting closer to dumping the 5 in favour of reloading 4.5 - better the devil you know. I have tried almost every conceivable vaiation in the preferences, class paths etc. Some one must know the combination - is it as simple as the recipe for toast or is it as complex as getting DNA from a martian. Oh man.
Summary: Do you know anywhere I can obtain Internet Explorer 4 series suitable for a 68k processor Mac, OS 7? I have tried macdownload.com via Zdnet but they only have IE Version 3 for the 68k. Thanks ...
