Subject: Installing OS 9 after OS X
OS: OS 9, X
CPU/Ram: 500MHz
Comment:

Specs:
500MHz, 192 RAM, 10 GB, OS 10.0, dual USB iBook.

I did not install the OS 9 drivers during a fresh install of OS X. Now, as I try to install it, I get "There is not valid system software to start classic" yadda. So, I whip out my OS X Jaguar disks thinking, ok, I can do it from there, but it gets stuck doing SOMETHING during restart, because I get the grey apple with the black whirlygig moving around for 12 HOURS. I THINK I can get a set of iBook restore disks, but will it matter what model? And, what are my options if I cannot use these disks? I have an OS X and Jaguar disk with my OWN Powerbook Restore disks. There's nothing important on the HD. Help! This is a present to a friend of mine (some present).

I had this problem last week on a G4 tower with OS 10.2. I restarted the computer with the OS 9.2 disk did a clean install its in options check the box and install OS 9.2 it did not delete OSX and both run fine. Or you can download a program called Pacifist $20 and install the drivers you need of OSX disk. Good Luck
