I am looking to install MAC OS on my PC if this is even possible. I already run System Commander 7 to boot different opperating systems (linux, 98se, Xp, 2000) off different partitions. I'd like to get to know MAC OS but I don't want to purchase a MAC. Does anyone have any suggestions. Is what I am trying to do even possible? ANY suggestions would be much appreciated
Thank you

Don't think about running Mac System anything on your computer. There used to be a program out that ran up to ... System 6 or 7, but it was terrible. Go on eBay and find an inexpensive used Mac. It's probably not going to be able to run OS X, but you'll get the picture. OS X, for the most part, is better than OS 9.

Basilisk II will run anything up to 8.1, and it's respectably fast on a good PC, but there are no PowerPC emulators for the PC, which severely limits your choices in what software your PC can run in emulation.

There is a new installer that has been listed on www.emaculation.com just rectly made by a "Citon_x600" user, who made a rather impressive installation package.

You might want to drop by there and pick that up. It's a 12MB download roughly but installs plenty of tools etc for Mac Emulation. (ROM not included)

Emulation is not complete for PPC chipset code as of yet. The only available solutions are PPC Simulators which are a far cry from working or reliable since they are only simulators meant for coding and debugging. You would need to run Linux on the simulator then run MOL. It's not a pretty sight, since it's very slow and the only products out there are Commercial with the exception of one Simulator which is free but has limitations.

Simics is the company that creates this software, but it costs thousands of dollars. So, for now, there is no Emulation for PPC in any platform that will do Mac. No matter what people say.
