Hi,

I have an Imac 266MHz, i just formated the harddrive and was going to reinstall everything on the drive. I started from the bootcd after formating the harddrive nad when I was going to install MacOS 9.2 it sais that the cd is locked, and i should also update the ROM(pressing a needle into a small hole in the side). When trying to do this needle picking :) its sais that I cant do it cause the cd is locked and it cant save the setting on the harddrive cause theres no systemfolder.....

Anyone whom just understood what I just wrote??

You need a firmware update before you upgrade.

Download the firmware update, apply it as directed in the read me file, and then try upgrading.

They should have sold you the CD that it came with as well, or at least taken care of the firmware problem if there weren't going to do that.
