Is there any way by which i can install mac os on intel platform.I have intel P4(processor) and D850MV (motherboard)
currently i am using win xp pro dual boot with redhat linux 7.2.
Mac OS (and even the UNIX based OS X) are
compiled ONLY for powerPC processors, not x86.
PowerPC emulation on a PC has not yet been
done, and is not likely to be.You can however emulate an older motorola 68k
based mac using Basilisk II which will run up to
OS 8.1, and non-PowerPC applications.Steve

Actually, no, you're wrong on both points. Well at least the first point... maybe it wasn't likely but it was done anyway. SoftMac is currently doing PowerPC emulation and is on the way to releasing a version that can emulate PowerPC... the beta versions they messed with in June of 2001 could emulate a PowerPC chip of several hundred MHz with the x86 CPUs at the time.

Fusion is one of my favorite because of its speed (probably related to the fact that it runs in DOS). Earlier versions of SoftMac are also free. But, like said, they can only run up to OS 8.1 with non-PPC apps, and require MacOS and a suitable Mac ROM. MacOS 7.5.5 and below are free, but the ROMs are not.
There is also Executor... it's similar to MacOS in the way WINE is to Windows; it doesn't emulate the Mac hardware, rather it emulates MacOS and runs MacOS apps without needing a Mac ROM or MacOS.

ok, ok, no need to split hairs, do you have a copy of this PPC emulating softmac, i'd like to see it for myself, I turned to using a real mac after getting frastrated with the lack of PPC support for a mac

If you really want to put Mac OS on a PC, grab a copy of YellowBox, Rhapsody, OpenStep or NextStep.
But I will let you know these things are next to impossible to find.

Of those four, the only ones legally available now are OpenStep and NeXTStep, and none of them are even close to the current Mac OS.
Both the Yellow Box and Rhapsody are developer's releases that are NFR, and NeXTStep is the NeXT OS, which, despite what pundits might tell you, isn't even close to Mac OS X.
