i am trying to correct the problem of "blocky bitmaps" in quark by installing atm lite 4.6.2 as i understand it i have to do this because quark runs in classic mode and therefore needs atm to render fonts that are of other sizes than the screen fonts in the suitcase i have downloaded atm lite from adobe.com and ran the installer but it doesn't seem to do anything after i have run through the installer options to install it to the hd is this a known problem or am i doing something wrong? i have closed all applications before installing and rebooted several times as well as downloading the atm lite a few times thanks

ATM Lite very likely either 1) doesn't work in Classic or 2) needs to be installed whilst booted into OS 9. p

thanks for the reply i should have mentioned the g4 is post january and will not boot into os9 is there any other info you could provide for this problem? thanks

Hrmmm...just a question for your boss, or whomever was responsible for the purchase of this Mac: Why was a machine purchased that *only* runs OS X when the purchaser knew *ahead of time* that Quark wouldn't run in OS X but would rely on Classic? If the purchaser was primarily concerned with running Quark, why didn't he/she buy one of the older-model G4s that Apple is still selling that *only* have OS 9 on them, for the sole purpose of doing stuff in Quark, quite possibly the most overrated page-layout program in existence? p
