Reply: (edit)It's my understanding that you have to get verions of your programs specifically for OS X. One of the beauties? of Apple is that over the years they have worked hard to make each new model incompatible with earlier hardware and software. Great for sales but not for the consumer. I have an old Beige G3 with OS 8.6. The only way I can go to a higher OS version is to get a different computer.
