Hi Folks,
Hope you can help. I have 'accquired' a DLT 15/30GB drive from an old Compaq workstation. Can I connect this to my iMac DVSE+? Is there drivers/software for this drive available for Macs?

You're gonna have to figure out the manufacturer of the drive (hint: it's not Compaq) before most of your questions can be answered.
That said, what you'll probably end up having to do is put it into a FireWire-based external case and use something like Retrospect.

Will you truly USE a DLT drive? CD/DVD is a more accessible and infinitely more standard media. My suggestion is to sell the DLT drive without any further thought and go with a CD/DVD for backups.
