Hi,
Sounds like non apple memory in G4. remove
memory to a single stick of 128 meg and try
again. If that don't work, reset pram.Suspect that you have a slight flaw in
memory- won't affect day to day stuff, but
install disks are really touchy about
installing OS10.4
for all your Refurbed mac kit in the UK

u need at least 256 of mb to run tiger plus u need a DVD player in the computer, u more then likey do not if u don't u need to do the media exchange program @ http://www.apple.com/macosx/upgrade/
cost $10 and u mial in the DVd and they send u CDs, or the store could have sold u the upgrade version of tiger and not eh full verson, plust he processer needs to be at least 400. let me know if this helps b101875@aol.comjel

On old macs it seems almost impossible to read the 'new'
DVDs that are packaged with copies of 10.4 retail boxes. The
Cube (2001) is one such model. it gives errors over and over
again. Once you attach a 'new' ie modern DVD reader via
firewire, bingo, it installs first time, no probs.
