Imation disk drive cable connect

I have an iMac and can't get it to recognize my Imation disk drive. Imation told me I had a faulty cable. I've tried three they have sent and still no solution. The only thing that works is if I disconnect the plug and then reconnect it. Then the disk drive appears on the desktop. Any ideas? Its sort of a pain to have to disconnect and connect the cable each time I want to use the drive.

I also have an IMac and an imation super disk drive, and sometimes have the same problem as you. Sometimes I find that the usb cable is somewhat loose, and sometimes I can't identify the problem. But sometimes it works perfectly! This problem has been present since the very beginning when I bought it. No solution, but at least you are not alone!
