Images MAC to "PC"

Hello everyone,
I have a mac and I use Microsoft messenger on it (for mac). When I try to change my display picture, there's always a pop up telling me that it's an invalid format but all my picures are in .jpeg. When I use photoboot + webcam, it saves the pictures in .jpeg as well but it's not working either. Strangely, when I open these picture on a friend's PC it works perfectly. Any ideas?
