Comment: I tried to upgrade my IMAC from os9.2.1 to os9.2.2 All went fine until the restart. When the machine restarted it couldn't find the internal Hard Drive. No system found, no drive found. I booted from the CD and the disk utility could not find the internal HD. What happenned? It is behaving as if there isn't a HD installed.

Reply: (edit)This could be a number of things: Bad install, loose Hard-Drive cable, System Corruption Keep trying the CD and running the disk utility, eventually it will show unless the drive went bad (that is rare, it does happen, but very rare). I have found in these situations that SOMETIMES, if you leave the machine off for 12-24 hours it miraculously and for no explainable reason (other than heat?!?!) the drive will come back on its own. If that fails and you grow tired of the CD Utility route, it maybe time to try Apple Authorized Repair. But before that do you own Norton Utilities or Norton System Works, TechTool Pro or DiskWarrior, if so try those (more intense Disk First Aid) if you do not own one of those and want to try one, for a missing disk DiskWarrior would be my first choice, but that is a personal preference and each of those tools does something the other does not.
