Here is what I have:
Apple iMac, G4, 800MHz, SD RAM 1 GB, 80 GB HD, CD-RW/DVD-R superdrive
OS 10.2.4
Epson Perfection 1660 Photo Scanner
Here is my problem:
My scanner is plugged directly into the computer. And I am able to scan in OS X, using PhotoImpression. But it is very clumsy and I would prefer to use Adobe Photodeluxe in OS 9 (I am familiar with that software). When I try to scan in OS 9, it tells me: “Cannot find the Scanner on the bus. Please ensure that it is switched on, ready to scan and that the cables are attached correctly.” Then I get another dialog box that says “Could not complete your request because there is no scanner installed. –30001”
I have tried to put the Epson Twain package everywhere it is needed, but it still won’t work. Right now I have 5 “Epson Twain 5” packages on my computer, that are located:
Macintosh HD > System 9 system folder > EPSON TWAIN 5
Macintosh HD > Library > Image Capture > TWAIN Data Sources > EPSON TWAIN 5
Macintosh HD > Applications (Mac OS 9) > Adobe PhotoDeluxe 1.1 > EPSON TWAIN 5
Macintosh HD > Applications (Mac OS 9) > Adobe PhotoDeluxe 1.1 > Plug-ins > EPSON TWAIN 5
Macintosh HD > Applications (Mac OS 9) > EPSON > Smart Panel > EPSON TWAIN 5
I also have an EPSON TWAIN 5 “document” located at
Macintosh HD > System 9 Folder > Preferences > TWAIN > EPSON TWAIN 5
When I try and open the “Epson Twain 5” package, a dialog box comes up and says “There is no default application specified to open the document “EPSON TWAIN 5”, Choose Application. Just for the fun of it I tried to open it with Adobe PhotoDeluxe, but it said “Could not open “EPSON TWAIN 5.ds” because File not found.
Thanks in advance for any help!
