Comment:

Hi,
going crazy with this.
i have a imac 333mhz with system 9.1
firmware 3.0 f2
I have problems reading certain data cd. It
used to work fine but i think 1 upgrade the
firmware and since i cannot read cd that i
burn on other machine. Those cd works
fine on others mac. Sometime, it reads
the cd but if i put in the same cd after, it
does not read it, it tells me that its not a
mac cd, if i what to format or the cd drive
just stop spinning(or its spin for ever).
Does someone have a solution fotr this..

Thanks

I have the same problem too. I have a rev.
A iMac and i have always had the problem
no matte what system software. the way i
fixed the problem is by changing the
blank cd media i was using. i forget which
brand but the kind that had a dark bluish
bottom rarely worked. this was true for cdr
and cdrw. i switched to memorex. pretty
cheap but the cd color is very simialr with
a very light gold bottom very similar to a
audio cd silver. never had a problem with
it since. hopefully it works for you

Check out www.info.apple.com for software and firmware updates that might apply to your Mac.

If you find any such updates, I suggest you make sure they're installed.
