I have an iMac I purchased in 2001, which
was a mistake, since I am pretty much
computer illiterate . It has been in
storage for a few years. I just got it out
and connected to Juno. To do that, I had
to download OSX. I am using internet
explorer 5.1. It is very, very slow and
many sites I cannot connect to. I cannot
get to my hotmail account. If you
respond, please remember I need the
answer in very elementary language.
Thank you.

Why did you have to download OSX? What are specs on your iMac,memory, etc.Didn't you have an OS on your iMac?

First things first, what version of OS X is it? If you go to Apple Menu (top left icon) and click on 'About this Mac' what does it say? We need that info for starters. If you are using IE 5 for Mac it's gotta be pretty old and needs a newer OS installed. The only way to do that is for a Panther/Tiger Install DVD. WE need more information before we can properly help you.
