Comment: Hi, I removed a 10Gb Fujitsu HDD from a Win2k box, formatted it and placed it in an iMac in place of its 4Gb disc. Its cabled up, not too sure about the jumpers but it recognises it as a master. I have Low level formatted it with Hard drive tool kit PE 4.5, and proceeded to load OS 9.1 On boot up it does not find the hard drive and when it defaults to the CD boot up, it still can not find the Hard drive. If however i shut down and hit "C" after the programmers chime, it boots from CD AND finds the Hard drive, but still will not boot from it. WHY????????????? Please help

Reply: (edit)Boot up from CD and use the disk setup (it is on the CD) to format the hard drive from there and install the OS after that.

Reply: (edit)the hard disk needs apple drivers on it or it's not going to work. some drives don't work and require special drivers from FWB software, so see if the disk is on aple's supported list, and if it isn't, try and get a copy of FWB hard Disk ToolKit.
