Comment: I just recently recieved an IMAC G3 Bondi Blue. It is a 233mhz, running I believe to be OS8.1, or at least that's what was in the CD when I got it. The problem is that it will not boot up. I turn it on and get the folder with the alternating smiling face and ? mark. I have tried holding down the C key and also zapping the PRAM. I can get into the open firmware screen, but I do not know what to do there. When I turn it on the power light is amber for about ten seconds then goes green and I get the folder and ? symbol. Please give me some sort of other suggestions to try.

Reply: (edit)Try booting up with the shift key down. If it boots up with the extensions off, you should go to the Extensions Manager and eliminate all but essential extensions. mkaynan
