I just recently recieved an IMAC G3 Bondi Blue. It is a 233mhz, running I believe to be OS8.1, or at least that's what was in the CD when I got it. The problem is that it will not boot up. I turn it on and get the folder with the alternating smiling face and ? mark. I have tried holding down the C key and also zapping the PRAM. I can get into the open firmware screen, but I do not know what to do there. When I turn it on the power light is amber for about ten seconds then goes green and I get the folder and ? symbol. Please give me some sort of other suggestions to try.

Try booting up with the shift key down. If it boots up with the extensions off, you should go to the Extensions Manager and eliminate all but essential extensions.
