I have the new imac with the flat screen.
My problem is that when watching DVDs,
the colour is too dark, and altering the
brightness has no effect to the shadows,
so shadows or dark areas in the film
(example: Hannibal) are so dark that the
person stood in them completely
dissapears. Is there another contrast or
brightness that I am missing?

You could try changing the angle of the screen somewhat. That might help.

Other than that, I'm not sure - my TiBook seems fine and it has a flat screen as well, so perhaps there's something else that's the problem...
