it beeps continuously usually after disconnect of dialup -when it goes to sleep-its very light. it ceases upon my waking it but returns if I let it go to sleep again. If I reboot its ok but returns randomly after having been on the web. I make sure to close IE and other exe's then disconnect, but it continues to be annoying. also at some point my sleep now command disappeared from the menus & I can't find it. 9.2. thanks s

Turn off Simple Finder in Finder preferances or
press your power button once and select Sleep
from the pop-up.

No help on the beep without more info.

Beeps every second, every 15 minutes?

A constant beep every so many seconds can be
caused by a lack of virtual memory either by
settings in the memory control panel or a full
harddrive. This however is usually accompanied
by a display explaining about the memory.

Memory conflict in an extension. Hum...

try this.

it will not hurt your system

Go to your system folder/extensions and delete all
files that say microsoft. ReStart
Get back on line. the files will be rebuilt by
explorer, outlook expess and office as you open
them.
